Welcome to Ultimate License Prep. This is an overview of the California real estate salesperson exam, given by the California Department of Real Estate, or DRE. We will cover what the exam is, who is eligible, how it works, what it covers, and how the classroom helps. The salesperson exam is a licensing examination given by DRE. It is multiple choice, with four answer choices for each question, and it is currently offered in an electronic format. To qualify, you must be at least 18 years old. California residency is not required to become licensed. Applicants must also be honest and truthful, and a criminal conviction may lead to a denial. You also need three college-level courses: Real Estate Principles, Real Estate Practice, and one elective from DRE's list. The exam has 150 multiple choice questions, and you have 3 hours to answer them. The passing score is 70 percent of the questions. DRE asks examinees to arrive 30 minutes early. You must bring valid, unexpired photo identification, and phones must be powered off and stored in a locker, even during breaks. You can schedule or reschedule your exam yourself in DRE's online eLicensing system. Qualified examinees can schedule into an available exam as late as 6 a.m. on exam day. Electronic exam results are given when you finish. If you do not pass, you receive your score and the percentage correct in each subject area, and you may reapply. DRE publishes a content outline for the salesperson exam, with approximate weights for seven content areas. Property Ownership and Land Use Controls and Regulations is about 15 percent. Laws of Agency and Fiduciary Duties is about 17 percent, and Property Valuation and Financial Analysis is about 14 percent. Financing is about 9 percent, and Transfer of Property is about 8 percent. The largest area is Practice of Real Estate and Disclosures, including Specialty Areas, at about 25 percent, and Contracts is about 12 percent. Ultimate License Prep follows those same sections. In Practice Questions, you work through one section at a time, and every question has a written explanation and an official citation. Review Missed brings back just the questions you missed so you can study them again, and Focus Tests gather your missed questions from every section for extra practice. While you practice, a timer and live stats show your time, question number, and score. The Learning Hub adds step-by-step lessons, each with a diagram, numbered steps, and a worked example. Flashcards cover every exam section, and you flip each card to reveal the matching answer. The classroom also works on a phone, in a clear mobile layout.
